OFF TO ANOTHER COUNTRY
Sorry for the gap in posts. The FREE WiFi at El Pino has been down for the last 9 days but is now back on, s o I have lots to report. I booked a trip to Gibraltar from the campsite for £8 which for a six hour round trip seemed like a good deal & it was. We set off at 7am & drove on the motorway past Malaga & lots of other sea side resorts until finally arriving at the boarder were passports where required. I found this very odd as Gibraltar is not separated by water or a bridge but is part of Britain. indeed once you have cleared customs and driven across the airport runway into town your as good as being back in Britain. Marks & Spencers, British home stores & a huge Morrisons Supermarket which sells everything you get in a British Morrisons (quite bizarre). The police are British the pubs are British the food is British.Fish & Chips Steak & Kidney Pie but unlike Spain which is really cheap to eat out ,the prices where British £8 for Fish & chips!!! Being on the south coast of Spain it does have a wonderful climate. 20oC on the day I was there. The other thing to do in Gibraltar is to get the cable car up to the top of the rock as it's called & take in the view & see the Monkeys. On a clear day you can Africa from the top. Unfortunately there's a haze most days. so I couldn't but it's not that far away. that's another Continent I plan to one day visit. tried to load the photos but have a problem as i took them on my proper camera and don't know how to post them on the blog. will keep trying though
